She had been running for so long, so far. Pounding, pounding. Why was her head pounding? Her heart felt as though it might explode from the sheer intensity and fast pace at which it was beating. Blood was pmumping roughly through her veins like liquid fire begging no-demanding- that she continue functioning on instinct alone. Her brain had gone on auto pilot as she desperately avoided her pursuers. Why wouldn't they just leave the poor girl alone?
Branches scratched at her and tore at her clothing and bare arms as she fought through the forest to try and get away. Can't. Stop. Running. But oh no, how did that branch get there? And for what wouldn't be the first or last time the dark skinned girl found herself falling, falling down hard onto...was that sand? The smell of salt reached the girl's senses as she quickly uprighted herself. But it was too late. They descended from the trees as Eriko backed up towards the water. She closed her eyes, preparing herself for the death of which she was sure was soon to come but... Nothing happened.
The nervous kunoichi opened her eyes to find herself alone. Blood. There was blood on the sand but... No bodies. Had someone saved her? Eri touched the still fresh blood on the white sands of the beach. The only question was...who?

Teruo had found some girl running from a group of people, no animals but he had showed them. He had killed them off one by one making sure each one had felt the pained the nine sound nin had given this poor little girl. When he had shown up the poor girl was passed out on the ground the nine ninja just coming out of the trees. He could tell she had been running for a long time because he clothes were ripped, she was breathing hard and she had sweat all over her face.
Teruo had came over to her after getting rid of those ninja and just stared at her. Gaku knew it was rude but hey she would never know. It hadn't took him long to break the stare and go to get water. He had figured she'd be up when he got back. He went to the farthest part of the small pond so that the cloud nin would wake up alone and not be startled by a man standing over her.

Eriko wrinkled her nose in slight disgust and wiped the blood off of her small hands onto her red skirt. No one would be able to tell anyway. "Where am I?" she wondered aloud before looking around. The genin tried to stay alert and ignore the various scrapes and bruises forming on her legs and arms. Eri sighed and tucked away the kunai she had after finding no one was near.
"Ow ow ow," the kunoichi whimpered as sand got into a particularly deep gash on her arm. This is bad how am I going to get back to the group? She withdrew the canister of water that was tied to a sash on her waist. The coolness felt nice against the burning of the sand in her wound.

Teruo had seen the young cloud nin was up. He had been walking back from looking for non-salty water, to find out that she wasn't sleeping. He didn't want to just want to walk up to her like they had already met, but he couldn't just leave her here. Teruo walked out of the bushes and up to her." Hi, my name is Teruo Gakasha. What's your name?" He gave a friendly smile and waited for her answer.
((ooc: Sorry it was so short I couldn't think of much to say.))

The sand in her wound was slowly being washed away by the cool water when Eriko's ears began picking something up. She withdrew a kunai from her pouch and gripped the handle tightly with shaking hands. Only one thing crossed her mind as she spun around quickly to face the older man who had spoken to her. Fear was present in her yellow eyes but also a bit of curiosity. He didn't seem like he was going to attack her and his smile was friendly.
Eriko lowered the kunai a little put didn't make any move to return it to it's home. No matter what he seemed like she still had to be on guard, shinobi were after all, great deceivers. "Who wants to know?" Eri questioned, attempting to sound brave but not entirely succeeding. The girl didn't even notice that the dark haired one had in fact already told her his name.
((bleh mine sucked it's just ew today.))

Teruo thought to himself he might be a threat to this girl in her eyes. She was afraid, he could tell. It had never occurred to Teruo that he could have been a threat to this girl. "My deepest apologies madam. My name if you didn't catch it is Teruo Gakusha, but for your greatness you can call me Gaku." he said with a smirk. “Why where those sound nin chasing you any way?" ((ooc : I’m not very good at this thread.))

A smile threatened to break Eriko's impassive face as she regarded the old man. He was rather silly really. The could kunoichi put away her kunai after deciding that he proably wasn't interested in maiming or killing her. "You're far too kind to me. Please forgive me rudeness." She bowed deeply to the older grass nin. "My name is Eriko Ozaki, i'm very pleased to meet such a fine warrior and thank you for saving my life." Eri dropped her gaurd and smiled warmly.
"I'm not sure why they were chasing me really. I was on a mission and got sperated from the squad. I didn't mean to honestly but we were running so fast and stupid me I ran into a tree branch," her eyes saddened. "I guess they didn't notice but it doesn't matter. I'll just find my way back to the village and all should be well once more."

Teruo could feel the girls gard drop. He knew the girl had felt she was safe, hey he was a safe person to be around. Gaku had to go before he actually got to like this girl, he knew he would by the way she acted. When had he not gotten to like someone somehow. "I have to go." Gaku expained smiling warmly." I have somewherwe to be." Teruo was sad to leave after meeting a new person but he had to go to a meeting. He couldn't afford to miss that.

“Wait!” Eriko followed after the Grass jounin after a few seconds. To be truthful, she was a bit frightened of being alone in the forest of a foreign country. The girl wasn’t sure if she could survive out here all on her own and Teruo had shown that he meant her no harm.
“Gakusha-sama, don’t leave me!” She quickly fell into step behind him. “Where are you going?” Eri bit her lip and stared at his back with yellow eyes. “I-I’m sorry to pry but I don’t want to be alone.”

He turned to the girl and smiled. “You can come, if you want.” He said as he looked up. He knew she wouldn’t be left alone because he never did himself. The last time he wanted to be left alone he was in an outburst of anger. Teruo rolled his eyes up then settled them on her. “I should really take you back to your village. I mean you’re not in any condition to tag along with me. Plus my business is boring business…” He sighed and started to walk.

Eriko stared at his back curiously while following after him. A moment of tense silence followed as she trailed after him not sure exactly what to do or say. Basic shinobi instincts told her that trusting a complete stranger was highly dangerous and a little if not very stupid. However, her human side couldn't help but want to trust this man. She didn't know anything about him. "What village are you from?" Eri peered up at him with large yellow eyes. She couldn't spot his forehead protector but from his movements she assumed he was a ninja, a high-ranking one most likely.
"I mean - I wouldn't want to drag you far out of your way." Eri blushed and fiddled with her fingers nervously. "I don't want to inconvenience you in any way, you already saved me from those nin I'm very grateful." Eriko stopped suddenly, turning in the opposite direction. "I'm sure I will manage to find my way back on my own." She smiled brightly though her nerves were a bit shaken. Bringing a foreigner near her village would be unwise, especially since she didn't know exactly what his intentions were.
