Shikamaru walked down the path that led towards the gate out of konoha. He was slightly worried that the missing-nin they were looking for had already left the village, so he was going to ask the ANBU if they saw anybody leave yet. He had gone ahead of Ino, which was okay with her even though the chuunin left with a slight bump on his head. 'Man, this nukenin better be around, I don't need to get smacked outside the head again..' He thought with a sigh. He was nearing the gate already, but then he stopped, looking at the surroundings, making sure there was no one hiding.

Looking down on the walking chuunin from the roof, Heishiro knew that the man was looking for something, and heading towards the gate of Konoha, he had to be looking for someone that would be leaving in a hurry. With a slight sigh, Heishiro knew that this could be only one person, and that was himself. Had he not gotten side tracked by something elsewhere, he probably would've been gone already. Interested in another confrontation, since the days recently had been filled with so many, he leapt from the roof and landed a few feet away from Shikamaru, his head band glinting in the light as he landed. With a gracious smile, he spoke cheerfully,
"Looking for someone?"

Shikamaru stopped walking, then started to say. "Move out of the---" Before he could finish, his eyes spotted the slashed headband almost instantly. And remembering Ino's description of the missing-nin, realized this is the guy. His hands still were at his sides as he stared at Heishiro. 'What, this guy is the one Usagi was talking about? He doesn't look like much..' Shikamaru thought with wonder.
"Your a nukenin, I see." Shikamaru remarked, stuffing one of his hands into his pocket. His hand was still slack near his pouch, just in case he needed to quickly pull out a shuriken or kunai.

"Don't worry, kid, I don't want to fight you..."
Heishiro said, half telling the truth about it. Honestly, he was exhausted, all the fighting going on recently had been a tad annoying, and even though he had yet to use up most of his chakra, he still felt mentally irritated. To prove that he was not going to attack just yet, Heishiro pulled his pouch off his back and placed it on the ground in front of this other person. He then removed the scroll from his back and also placed it on the ground, but this time, directly in front of himself. Finally, he slid off his jacket and tossed it off to the side, leaving only his holed mesh shirt to show that he had nothing else.
"Nukenin, missing-nin, so many names. In the end, I'm a person with goals just the same as you, only mine differ from yours."

'Man, is this guy nuts or what? He just completely unarmed himself. But then again, you don't need equipment to use ninjutsu or genjutsu. Better keep an eye on this guy.' Were Shikamaru's thoughts. His eyes were glancing at his scroll. It looked like the same kind of scroll that Tenten used in the chuunin exams to release weapons. 'Hm...maybe its Tobidogu, a summoning scroll.' He considered. He then shrugged his shoulders at Heishiro's answer. "Yeah, maybe. Either way, you assaulted a genin of our village, am I right?" Shikamaru asked Heishiro, bending down but not peeling his eyes off the missing-nin for a second as he took the man's pouch. During this same moment, Shikamaru had noticed the mark on Heishiro's neck. He wasn't exactly familiar with it, but it didn't take a genius to realize that was a seal. What kind of seal, the chuunin wasn't sure about, but he'd question that later.
Glancing through the contents very quickly, Shikamaru saw that it was the basic ninja arsenal. He slowly connected the pouch to his belt on the opposite side of his own pouch, watching Heishiro's movements. "I hope you don't mind that I 'borrow' your pouch." Shikamaru added along with his first question.

"Borrow what you will."
Heishiro answered, just as calmly as he had spoke before. He didn't much mind his pouch being taken, as of now he had only used the weapons in it for some simple defensive maneuvers and distractions. Shrugging, he looked down at his scroll for a moment, making sure that it was in the right position to be opened quickly enough, since it was a bit longer to hold all the puppets in it. Noticing that it was off a little, he tapped it with his right foot to move it to the left a little. Once it was in perfect position, he nodded with satisfaction, hoping that the person in front of him would assume it was simply a nervous tap. But, seeing as he took his pouch, it probably wouldn't go over like that.
"And about your genin... I didn't assault her, I defended myself."
Heishiro knew how lame of an excuse this was, since he was a jounin and she was a genin, but he was sure that the man in front of him did not know his skill level and hoped that it would work.

Shikamaru's eyes instantly shot down as Heishiro tapped it. 'Huh, its like he's getting it into position for something. It can't be weapons he's holding, there wouldn't be any point if he opened it from that position.' He thought. He then remembered that Usagi said something about her attacker being a puppetmaster. 'That must be it, that scroll is holding puppets, so he doesn't look suspicious when wandering around.' He came to the conclusion. He had to be cautious if Heishiro did something, but until then, he simply looked back up at the missing-nin. He couldn't help but chuckle when Heishiro had said he was defending himself.
"Defending yourself, when I found her, she looked pretty beat up. I heard that you also attacked my teammate." Shikamaru accused, his calm eyes staring at Heishiro's eyes, as if trying to make sure he tells the truth.

It was clear that the man could see what the scroll was for, the recognition in his face wasn't exactly hidden. Shrugging calmly, Heishiro decided that he wouldn't look down at the scroll any longer, until it was absolutely necessary. No reason to go and give this person a motive to attack him when he was practically unprepared. With a slight bit of shock when the man said teammate, Heishiro raised an eyebrow and said,
"Your teammate? The annoying blond one?"

"Yeah, her." Shikamaru couldn't help help but laugh a bit. That fit Ino PERFECTLY, at least to the chuunin. Despite the fact it came from his target, Shikamaru still find it a bit funny. He then nodded his head, then glancing down at the scroll again. 'I might be able to spare myself some time if I sent my shadow at this guy now...' He thought, but quickly decided against it. It was true that Shikamaru could ensnare Heishiro with his shadow right now, but he would only be able to make it last for about 5 minutes, and he was slightly doubting that Ino would make it in time to use Mind Transfer jutsu.

"Ah, well. She was the one who really attacked first, then the other one got all angsty and decided to attack me with a damn sword. She cut my hand, you know!"
Heishiro said, becoming a tad more friendly with this person. It's true, the man was probably here to kill him, but it didn't really matter at the moment, he was doing what he had to to ease the tension. At least for now, because once the annoying blond one showed up it would probably be all over. The ease, at least. Sighing at this though, Heishiro waited for the other man's answers.

Shikamaru had the same, calm feeling as Heishiro. He was supposed to bring the missing-nin in, yet was still feeling slightly at ease since nothing has happened yet. However unlike Heishiro, Shikamaru was still keeping himself on guard. After all, get too comfy, and something is bound to happen, to you at least. Shikamaru groaned a bit when he realized Ino had attacked first, then muttered. "Way to go Ino...man what you'd expect from a bunch of girls..." Shikamaru still cared that the genin was hurt, and Heishiro would pay for that none the less even if Usagi had cut his hand.
Despite the fact Usaga and Ino probably shouldn't have attacked him, the odds and favors were stacked on the leaf ninjas side, as he was a nukenin, and was supposed to be killed on sight. Shikamaru stepped forward a little, hands in his pockets, still having that usual look on his face as he said. "Doesn't matter, you realize the consequences once your captured, right?" Shikamaru asked him, wondering if Heishiro was familiar with what would happen to a missing-nin as well. Especially one who continued to wear a slashed headband.

"Of course I realize the consequences..."
Heishiro said, noticing that the man in front of him had advanced a few steps, and he suddenly became the malicious calm that he usually is. This time, though, the heaven seal on his neck slowly started to rotate on its own, showing that Heishiro was still very serious, even if he was trying to act friendly to the leaf ninja. Of course, being friendly wouldn't save him from squat, but it might make the fight a little easier if the chuunin tried to hold back. Since a fight was indeed inevitable. Shaking his head and sighing at the thought, he looked forward, staring straight into the eyes of the ninja and continued to talk as the seal swirled.
"People die, by my hand, by my groups hand. In the end, it doesn't matter. I won't be suffering, I'll tell you that."

She shot soundlessly through the forest, after reporting the hokage herself as well as stacking up on more weapons and some poisons she'd collected, she was off at the trail Shikamaru had left behind her. Although she'd been very annoyed at first that he suggested to go first, she realised it was alright- as that nukenin had not seen Shikamaru yet.
However, doubts of the curse seal were going through her mind again. When she was twelve, and saw Sasuke in the forest of death- it really did look like god was wearing black. She frowned, shaking her thoughts. Why the heck did that Uchiha haunt her, he was a nukenin, who'd left not only Chouji thinner than her- but Shikamaru crying and being comforted by none other than that Sand girl. Her eyes narrowed and she hurried to her destination.
"People die, by my hand, by my groups hand. In the end, it doesn't matter. I won't be suffering, I'll tell you that."
"That's nothing to brag about, you know," Ino said, materialising out of the trees where she'd finally been hiding.
She whipped out several shuriken, hurling it at him with her usual sleight of hand. Her smile became a smirk.
"Shikamaru, you've done a lot of damage so far, but I'm glad you left some for me! The creep. You were spying on a thirteen year old girl-- at least wait until she's matured," Ino shot back to the nukenin. "We're kunoichi, not one your puppets!"

Shikamaru looked to his left, and was moderately relieved to see Ino arriving. He waited for her to finish talking, then when she said that he caused a lot of damage, simply rolled his eyes and brought out a smirk of his own. "Yeah yeah...about time you got here Ino. Remember, watch out for any sneak attacks by his puppets. They're in that scroll in front of him." Shikamaru had yelled to his comrade, drawing a kunai of his own, yet simply standing there and waiting to see if Ino's attack would connect.
The chuunin was aware of how good Ino's aim was. Like she had said a while ago, she was one of the top kunoichi in the academy. She was also a dangerous threat to handle, especially when she got mad. He decided this was the time to act, to help and fight finally. 'I shouldn't use any of my jutsu...yet.' He thought as he gave a glance to Ino. He hoped she was ready for this.
